Simson fan Anna can never get lost with Schwalbe Karl

Anna has completely rebuilt together with the dad Schwalbe Karl in map look. We think, a really successful father-daughter project :)

Brand Simson

How did you become aware of the Simson brand?
I inherited a S51 from my grandpa a few years ago and since then I am in Simson fever. That's why I had to get another bird.

What do you particularly like about Simson?
What I like most about the Simson is that you can do everything yourself in just a few steps and it's fun to learn by yourself.

Your Simson

Your Schwalbe has a very unusual paint job. How did this idea come about?
Yes, it has. There is an atlas glued on it. A real map. So I can never get lost. ;-) I got the idea through Facebook. Someone had stuck a map of a ship on his moped. I really liked that, so I took a map. :)

What all did you change on Karl?
The Swallow was made from scratch and a lot of time, money and work went into it. I think it would be too much to write everything. It was a project of dad and me, so he helped me a lot. Here are some things that have been changed: First the map,a lowering 260/300mm, gold anodized rims with whitewall tires, wooden turn signals and much more. As a small highlight, the child seat and a canister was made 'new', but you can see that in the pictures. Engine wise everything is original and will remain so, I want to be seen after all.

Were there any problems during assembly?
There were almost no problems and if there were, then they were due to missing parts, which I got at my dealer around the corner.

How much did the conversion cost?
Roughly calculated in the meantime about 2.800€.

What do you use your Schwalbe for?
I use Karl only to ride it in my spare time. For the way to work and other things the Schwalbe is too good for me.

What was your greatest or most extraordinary experience with your Simson?
Until now there was no big highlight, in June I'm going with Karl to Berlin to the Altblechwerk meets Classics meeting (24.06.17), I'll be there as a VIP guest. Otherwise it's always quite amusing to watch the people who can't get out of their amazement.

Other

Are you a member of a Simson club?
Yes, Burning Simson Crew.

Do you take part in Simson events?
No, because my Karl is simply too good for that.

Do you have any wishes, ideas, plans for the future regarding Simson?
Up to now everything is as I wanted it to be. But with the time, comes surely still some what can be found, in order to change it. In any case, at some point another star will expand the collection.

Anything else you'd like to share with us?
Have fun with my contribution and look if you want, on the facebook page of Schwalbe Karl by and leave a Like there. ;-)
