Replacement regulator for 6 Volt motorcycle dynamos
with:
- negative ground (if connected to positive ground, the controller will be destroyed immediately!))
- Field
wire resistance: at least 2.5 Ohm- Maximum power: 16A (~100Watt
)- For ambient temperatures from -20 to +80 °C
- The regulator provides 7.0 to 7.4V regulated voltage when a consumer is present (switched on light
)- It can be used for dynamos with both negative and positive field excitation (positive field excitation is NOT positive ground
)- A 6V battery (e.g. lead, gel or fleece) is required. No function without
or with dead battery NOTE
: You must switch off the field excitation resistor (present in every original dynamo system, even if you do not see it as a single component), which is sometimes complicated because the resistor is partly very hidden. If you don't see any resistance, it's not a sign that it's removed. It is often hidden
as a simple piece of wire on a winding.
