Description
So far we have always concentrated on the newer engine variants of the S51 in our cylinder kits.
The problem is the inherently low torque, as the engine is still very short-stroke. With all tuned 50ccm kits there is always a rather "weak-chested" engine with a lot of speed.
The second version was the widely used reaming of the cylinder with a S70 piston. This should increase the torque to 63ccm, but most of it will be "eaten up" by a much too long intake timing of almost 200° (because the S70 piston is
10mm shorter than the original piston). Furthermore these motors are very difficult to tune.
Out of this emergency we have finally built a kit that doesn't have these disadvantages! The
basis is a specially made 45mm piston with all the advantages of our well-known kit pistons.
This finally gives us the opportunity to build an inexpensive kit that combines good peak performance with a decent rev range (this is especially important for engines that usually only have a three-speed gearbox). As
always, the scope of delivery includes cylinder with complete piston, cylinder head, gaskets and assembly instructions.
The kits fit any S50 engine. The
kits can also be based on the round Schwalbe- or Star- cylinder, but a usable cylinder with head (clean, technically OK) must be sent in. Scope of delivery cylinder kit: - cylinder- cylinder head- piston (barikit)- pin- safety clips- gasket- installation instructions - inlet approx. 21mm-
