Racing crankshaft long stroke 48 mm
In the completely newly manufactured crankshaft, many design advantages could be realized compared to a subsequently rebuilt Simson crankshaft. The 1 mm wider crank webs provide the basis for optimum balancing and higher rigidity (stronger interference fit). With the help of the pressed-in aluminum plugs and the lighter connecting rod, the balancing is adapted exactly to the S85 piston. This results in a low-vibration engine run, increased rotation and longer bearing life. The bottom-guided bearing uses a high-quality silver-plated needle bearing (13 mm wide) with silver-plated thrust washers. This eliminates the need for the upper thrust washers in the piston and provides space for a 16 mm wide needle bearing
