In addition, if LED is used and only one flashing indicator light is present (via the current flow through the flashing indicator light), both sides of the vehicle may flash. Then it is absolutely necessary to install suitable large ballast resistors.
When operating with magnet-based generators (such as Powerdynamo systems) without a battery, a smoothing capacitor must be installed or a controller with built-in capacitor must be used to achieve a clean flashing frequency. If a battery is present, these measures are not necessary.
